If any of these is true for you, then Audio Graffiti can help you!
We offer a specialised service in digital recording. We can provide acoustic or electric guitar, electric bass, live or sequenced drums, and electric keyboard (synth) to any digital recording project you are working on. All without taking up expensive studio time.
And, with prior arrangement, we may be able to offer a variety of other instruments including saxophone (alto, tenor, soprano), trumpet, trombone, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, penny whistle, percussion and vocals.
One of our specialties is drum tracks. We can combined professionally sequenced MIDI drum parts with the BFD Acoustic Drum Module to provide stunning audio drum tracks for your projects. People who listen to your recordings will believe they are hearing a flesh-and-blood drummer. We can provide either a single, mixed-down stereo drum track, or a collection of WAV files that you can mix down yourself (two files each for the snare and kick, one per all other drums and cymbals, plus stereo files for room, overhead, and floor microphones).
You provide us with a rough mix of your recording project to date, preferably on CD. We use that as a guide track to record whatever instruments you want us to play. We then extract those parts as WAV files and return them to you or your producer for integration into your main project. (Check out the album If The Truth Hurts by Monique Lisbon for an example of our work)
Because you are not with us in the studio, you need to be very clear on what you want. But don't worry, we will work with you to get a part you are happy with, even if between both of us it takes two or three goes to get it right!
What Do I Need To Provide?
All you need to do is give us a copy of your rough mix, tell us what instruments
you want played, and music or directions for the part to be played. While
we can work from an MP3 mix sent via email, we prefer to use an uncompressed
CD recording as our guide track, and you'll benefit by receiving a better
product.
If you aren't really sure what you want us to play—even better—let us work out a part for you. We'll probably come up with 2 or 3 alternatives and let you and your producer make the final choice. All you need to do is give us a general idea of the style you want. For example, do you want a crunchy rhythm part or jangly chords played sparsely? Do you want a bass line that is bright and funky or low and "growly". Maybe you can say "In the style of...".
We also need you to tell us what tempo the original recording was made at (this makes things easier for everyone later!).
If you haven't started your project, we can start it for you! We'll lay down the basics and give you the rough mix that you can add vocals and other parts to. If you or your producer are using Cakewalk Sonar, we can give you our project files instead of WAV files.
When we have finished recording your music, you will receive a CD containing:
How to Order
Before your order, we recommend that you contact
us by email first to ensure that we have sufficient time to meet the deadlines
of your project, and to discuss your recording requirements. We can usually
provide you with a quote at this time based on the number of tracks, number
of instruments or parts per track, and the complexity of the music.
To order, send us a copy of your rough mix along with any written music or instructions, and your deposit, preferably by mail. We will then commence work on your project.
When the work has been completed, we will notify you so you can pay the balance. We will send you a rough mix of the part in low-quality MP3 format and/or a short section of the piece in higher-quality MP3 format. You will have the opportunity to make comments on the recording or request changes. When you are happy with the rough mix, we will then burn the high-quality recordings to CD and mail these to you.
