MIDI Sequencing
Audio Graffiti is well equipped to help with your MIDI sequencing needs! We can:
- Create sequenced parts for your recording project
- Sequence backing tracks for live performances
- Help make your existing MIDI sequences sound less mechanical
MIDI is sometimes despised as being mechanical and unmusical. However, our approach to sequencing is to impart as much musicality as we can. We can also take the MIDI sequence to the next level by rendering it using our extensive sample library.
All we need is your score. If you can't notate music yourself, we can also offer our transcription service to transcribe your original music from CD or MP3 before we sequence it.
Samples
All of the MIDI samples below have been rendered as audio so you can hear them how they were meant to be heard. If you order our MIDI sequencing service, we will provide you with the MIDI file so you can render the audio yourself, though we can do that for you too.
Realistic Shuffle
MIDI shuffles are notorious for sounding mechanical. This is an example of how we can make it a little more believable:
Funky Rock
This is a syncopated rock beat, with pulsing hi-hats:
Latin Band
This sample is a blend of kit drum, congas, timbales and percussion playing a samba beat, with some brass thrown in just for fun.

Pricing
The cost of a sequencing job depends on several factors, including note density, length of the piece, and the number of individual instrument voices to be sequenced. The price is also dependant on whether you want a mechanical sequence or a human-sounding sequence.
For these reasons, we can't provide a set price list here. We need to see your score before we can provide a quote.
However, to give you some idea, sequencing is estimated on a rate of $60 AUD per hour. A basic drum track for a four-minute song might take two hours to sequence to a "mechanical" level, and twice that to make it sound more human.

How to Order
Ordering is a simple as sending us a copy of your music, either by email, fax or mail. We will provide you with a quote for the cost of the job based on its size, note density, complexity and any special requirements.
We will begin work on your music when you accept the quote and formally place your order by paying the appropriate fee. When the work is complete, we will send a draft copy for you to check. You will have the opportunity to make comment on the sequence. If anything isn't perfect, we'll make the necessary corrections and send you a new draft.
