When you place an order for music engraving or transcription, you can optionally select from a number of different stylesheets. We use stylesheets to speed up the turnaround on your engraving job.
The current collection of stylesheets includes casual, informal, professional and traditional looks. There's sure to be something that suits your requirements.
However, should you require something different, we can create a custom stylesheet for you for a small additional cost.
Standard 1 (Modern)
This style uses the familiar Arial font for text and Opus for musical symbols.
This style has a clean, casual look.
Examples: Score, Piano-Vocal,
Lead Sheet, Part

Standard 2 (Traditional)
This style is similar to "Standard 1" except that Times is used instead of
Arial for all text.
Examples: Score, Piano-Vocal,
Lead Sheet, Part
Extract
Session
"Session" also uses the Opus music fonts but incorporates a more professional
looking sans serif font (Corporate Sans) for text.
Examples: Score, Piano-Vocal,
Lead Sheet, Part
Extract
Classical
This is a variant of the "Session" stylesheet but uses Book Antiqua (a serif
font) for all text. This stylesheet has an elegant look, and is a popular
choice for publishing.
Examples: Score, Piano-Vocal,
Lead Sheet, Part
Extract
Professional
The "Professional" style incorporates the best of both "Session" and "Classical"
stylesheets. A sans serif font (Corporate Sans) is used for lyrics, titles,
instrument names and other structural text. Music terms (tempo, expression,
technique etc) are rendered in a serif font. This is also a popular choice
for publishing.
Examples: Score, Piano-Vocal,
Lead Sheet, Part
Extract
Jazz
This style incorporates the InkPen font for both music symbols and the InkPen
Script font for text. Inkpen resembles handwriting made with a broad-tipped
marker or fountain pen. It has an informal look, and is popular with school
and community bands.
Examples: Score, Piano-Vocal,
Lead Sheet, Part
Extract
Free-Hand
"Free-hand" is a variant of the "Jazz" stylesheet. It differs in that it uses
a much finer handwriting font (Bradley Hand) for text; the font is more like
a fine-tipped marker than a fountain pen. Music notes are rendered in InkPen.
Examples: Score, Piano-Vocal,
Lead Sheet, Part

Custom
For a small additional fee, we will set up a custom style sheet for you. You
need to provide the font files (TrueType or OpenType please) and specify how
you would like these used.
Our Style Sheets are in the Adobe Acrobat "PDF" format. You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to print these, and you can download it from the Adobe site.
The quality of the samples will depend on the capabilties of your printer. We suggest you use a printer with a resolution of at least 600dpi for best results.
These style sheet files are between 30 Kb and 130 Kb in size, with most being around the 70 Kb to 90 Kb range.
